CHARLESTON, S.C. - Nothing says “Be Mine” like a five-course dinner at one of Charleston’s most romantic restaurants or a stay at the historic Wentworth Mansion®, a popular spot for engagements, weddings and honeymoons. Throughout February, the historic restaurant and hotel is giving a nod to sweethearts with special dinners and packages. AAA Four Diamond, Forbes Four Star Circa 1886 will offer two seatings on Sunday, Feb. 14 at 6 and 9 p.m. with a special Valentine’s Day dinner. The menu features seared sea scallops and shrimp for a first course; chilled organic chicken breast for the second course; and truffle goat cheese panna cotta croustade for the third course. For the entrée, guests can choose from sous vide of beef shoulder loin with garlic shoot potato puree and rosemary-glazed baby squash; seared snapper with Brussels sprouts and baby blue potatoes; or Berkshire pork tontoro with foie gras sun-dried cherry cornbread stuffing and root vegetables. Midnight chocolate indulgence, a dessert created by pastry chef Scott Lovorn, will conclude the evening. Cost is $100 per person and excludes beverages, tax and gratuity. On Valentine’s Day weekend, Feb. 13-15, the same package is available for $1,075 (including tax and gratuity at dinner but excluding beverages and room tax) and requires a two-night minimum stay. Also available throughout the month of February is the Date “Over” Night package, a package for locals that was popular last fall and is back for 2010.
