One of the best hotels we have ever stayed in, and we both travel extensively for business. I chose the hotel because of the pictures online, room amenities, the restaurant, the free parking, and proximity to CofC. Price was reasonable for the beauty of the house - it is well maintained and the extras (coffee, snacks, etc.) were greatly appreciated. Thank you for the stay... I feel totally rejuvinated! I Can't say enough about how great this restaurant is. The cooking, service, and wine list were outstanding. Absolutely loved it. Will go again whenever we're in town. A.K.

The Wentworth Mansion is the place I want to come to in Charleston.I look forward to happy hour, dinner and breakfast. It was too long since I had shrimp and grits for breakfast! The amenities are perfect and the guests are always fun to meet as such interesting people stay there. My only complaint is that I couldn't stay longer.I would not stay anywhere else in town.

Our first impression of the hotel was that we were being invited to stay with friends in a private residence. Beverly did a great job of making me feel like I was the only guest in the hotel and made time to answer all my questions. The front desk exceeded all expectations by attending to our family's needs during the whole week of our stay. They always went above and beyound to accomodate us. Housekeeping was exceptional. We had our children with us and the room was a challenge for housekeeping I am sure, but they were very accomodating. The value for the price paid was incredible. If we had stayed at a less expensive hotel, we would have had to pay for all the other services the the Wentworth provided complimentary. We loved the experience. B.S., Lafayette, LA

We were treated as if we were family members from the first moment we arrived. By the time we checked out, we really did feel as if we were leaving family. In fact, we loved our experience so much that we extended our stay by one night. We stayed at Wentworth to celebrate our 13th anniversary, and our expectations were exceeded by far. On our first evening, we returned from walking downtown to find our room lit by candles and chilled champagne waiting for us. We were completely shocked and impressed. The staff is more than top-notch in every regard. Everything we experienced at Wentworth exceeded our expectations. The property itself is not only unique, but it is a very warm, welcoming home. Our greeting went beyond courteous and efficient. Entering the mansion for the first time is part of the experience. The staff was nothing short of professional, yet down home. My wife enjoyed a facial at the spa. She said the friendliness and professionalism at the spa was the same as everything associated with the Wentworth Mansion. Front desk personnel were all fantastic. I really felt as though we were being welcomed by family or good friends. The tour of the house was excellent. You can tell that everyone really felt a part of the Wentworth family and we as well. The wait staff was excellent. Every meal was outstanding. Rice pancakes and rabbit sausage stood out. Coffee cups kept full, food always hot and flowers in the dining area outstanding. Everyone greeted us with such friendliness that I was very sad to have to leave Sunday morning. "The most AMAZING Place" I have traveled to Charleston many times and have stayed at a lot of the fine hotels. On this trip I tried someplace I had never stayed because this trip was for my anniversary - so it had a lot to live up to... and boy did it. From the moment we checked in to the final minutes there I can't rave enough about Wentworth and the staff. The Food... Breakfast was not to be believed - incredible (Kyle was great - gave us lots of ideas of things to do) so was Miss Bessy. (They all were really). We had dinner at Circa and it was very good. Happy hour food was incredible not just wine and cheese. The Staff... I can't praise them enough. 5 star. On our anniversary night we came back to our room to find a very special surprise - chocolate covered strawberries, champagne, candles around the room, the fireplace on and a very sweet anniversary card. Did I mentioned we asked for none of this! There was not one weak link - incredible staff. The best part to me is - they were there when we needed them and not when we wanted our space. Over all - there is no place better in Charleston. Couldn't be happier - I will be back as soon as I can! Maryland

If you are coming to Charleston, you have to stay at the Wentworth Mansion. My wife and I were supposed to travel to Paris for our 30th anniversary, but the volcano made short work of those plans. AirFrance cancelled on the morning we were to leave, so it didn’t leave much time for Plan B. I called the Wentworth Mansion and spoke with Tim, explaining our predicament. Despite the short notice, we were able to book a room for the next four days, arriving less than 24 hours from making the reservation. We arrived (from New England) and were greeted by an extremely pleasant concierge (Robert) and a friendly bellman, Skyler. We went out to dinner and returned to our room; unbeknownst to us (I wish I had thought of it) Robert and Skyler, knowing from Tim that this was our anniversary, had arranged for a bottle of Champagne on the mantle, candles throughout the room, and romantic music. What a pleasant surprise, and that attention to detail continued for our entire stay. All the staff were unbelievably helpful; Scott and Kenneth, the other concierges, and the other bellmen, continued to provide exceptional service. The food and drink in the afternoon, the breakfasts at Circa 1886 every morning, the gorgeous surroundings, and most importantly the wonderful staff, make the Wentworth Mansion the only choice for an exceptional hotel in Charleston. Plan B turned into Plan A+, and our stay at the Wentworth (which we extended) will forever make our 30th anniversary the most memorable to date. Thank you Tim, Skyler, Robert, Scott, Kenneth and Noreen for a fantastic visit. We will be back again.

We stayed for 10 days and loved the mansion as well as Charleston...its is my new favorite place. Your staff is one that I have never encountered before at any other bed and breakfast, hotel or otherwise...you should be really proud of that! It felt like we were coming home everyday!

“Perfection in Charleston” From the moment we arrived until we left four days later it felt as if we were at home. The staff was very friendly and helpful with out being obtrusive. We had room 17....an amazing space with a fireplace, lovely views, well appointed bathroom....just perfect. We can not say enough about Circa 1886. We had the best dinner there of any restaurant (all high end) in Charleston. The chef is very innovative and he could make fried catfish any day of the week for me! We also liked the quiet of the neighborhood, again it gave us a feeling of being at home and not amid the bustle of a city, which was just a few short blocks away. We can not wait to return and would highly recommend the Wentworth Mansion to anyone visiting Charleston....a true value for all that one receives. B.K., Florida

Staying here was, in retrospect, the highlight of our trip. By the second night, we remarked that we felt that we were returning 'home' instead to a hotel. Everything was handled with grace! Once we checked in, the entire staff behaved as if they knew us. The room was beautiful and spacious. The bed and bath were both very luxurious. Dinner was exquisite. This was truly one of the very best meals that I have ever had. The food was unique and very flavorful. Hopefully all your guests enjoy at least one dinner in Circa 1886. It was a joy to come back after dinner to a clean room, a box of chocolates, a rose, and music softly playing. At first, I thought the published rates were pricey, but the value of what you get is extraordinary. I have already described the atmosphere and services to a number of people. I will be back!
